Common DNS Records Needed When Using Monsoon Mailer
BASIC DNS RECORDS NEEDED WHEN USING MONSOON MAILER
When you create an email campaign, in order to be complaint with industry requirements when sending email you will probably need the following DNS entries in your DNS configuration. You will need ADDITIONAL entries, specific to your needs as well and our Support Team will help you with that when you contact them via email at support@monsoonmailer.com.
- SPF Records. SPF Records are a way to add our IP addresses as authorized for sending your email.
- MX Records. When you recipients reply their email needs to be routed back to you via MX records.
- ClickTracking Records. When your recipient clicks on one of your Call To Action links by creating click-tracking records in your own DNS it maintains your branding, even "under the hood" which increases the possibility that anti-spam filters will consider your email legitimate.
- DMARC Records. The DMARC protocol defines DNS records that will help "authenticate" your email so that anti-spam filters are more likely to consider it legitimate. Too, DMARC has the ability to cause major recipient systems like Google or Yahoo to generate reports back to you of the number of illegitimate messages they have received and source information so you can track down bad actors potentially impersonating your brand to commit nefarious activities such as malware or phishing or identity theft.
- Domainkey and DKIM Records. The Domainkey and DKIM protocol defines DNS records, among other things that will help "authenticate" your email so that anti-spam filters are more likely to consider it legitimate.
